Welcome to Confucius InstituteIn 2008, Kennesaw State University (KSU) was selected by the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) as a Confucius Institute site. This selection places us among an exclusive group of universities partnering with the People’s Republic of China.

The nonprofit Confucius Institute at KSU promotes the study of Chinese language, culture, ethics, and philosophy, and furthers the understanding of China today.

KSU, Georgia’s third largest university, partners with Yangzhou University (YZU) to operate its Confucius Institute. YZU is a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province. It emerged in 1992 through the merging of several higher educational institutions; the history of some of these institutions dates as far back as 1902.

With the establishment of this prestigious institute at KSU, the university has become a key resource in developing networks with China, the world’s fastest-growing economy, while serving the growing educational and business communities in the Atlanta area, as well as the Southeastern United States.

Since its establishment, YZU has provided quality education to students, continued to make excellent contributions to the society, and has spared every effort in developing the students’ moral and cultural sensitivity.

For many years, KSU and YZU have worked together through the Chinese Language Study Abroad Program to provide quality education to students across the University System of Georgia. KSU is pleased to partner with YZU in this new endeavor.
