Deferring F-1 Admission

There are different processes to defer your admission.  This depends on whether you are a graduate or undergraduate student.

Undergraduate students:

1) Notify the SEVIS office by email to SEVIS@kennesaw.edu. In the email include:

  • Your name;
  • KSU ID number;
  • The semester that you originally applied for; and,
  • The new semester that you wish to enter.

NOTE: Financial statements must be dated within 6 months of the start of classes that you enter KSU. If you are deferring to a later semester, it is likely that you will have to send updated financial statements.

2) Submit a new application for the semester you wish to start via the GAfutures website.

NOTE: There will be a $40 application fee.

Graduate students:

1) Notify the SEVIS office by email to SEVIS@kennesaw.edu. In the email include:

  • Your name;
  • KSU ID number;
  • State the semester that you originally applie.d for; and,
  • The new semester that you wish to enter.

NOTE: Financial statements must be dated within 6 months of the start of classes that you enter KSU. If you are deferring to a later semester, it is likely that you will have to send updated financial statements.

2) Fill out the following Student Update Form.
