The core DGA Program is a 12-month series of monthly seminars, quarterly retreats and a week-long international training culminating in a public showcase and the implementation of a self-designed internationalization project predicated upon the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and with the intention to engage and benefit the KSU community.
The program begins in the Spring semester with a series of monthly seminars and retreats. During the Spring Break period, students travel to the United Nations Palace in Geneva, Switzerland for a week of intensive training where they will present preliminary project proposals to senior diplomats and receive individual feedback on how to improve their projects to benefit KSU and our local-to-global communities.
Over the summer, individual projects are refined and developed into formal proposals with the help of designated mentors. During the Fall semester, students continue their monthly seminars and retreats and begin to implement their projects following a public showcase event.
At the end of the Fall Semester, students who successfully complete all program requirements receive program certificates from the United Nations, CIFAL Atlanta and the KSU Division of Global Affairs and become Distinguished Global Ambassadors to the campus with additional opportunities for leadership roles in campus internationalization through the Division of Global Affairs and the Atlanta Consular Corps.
