Sometimes things happen. Sometimes you have questions and don't know where to find the answer. Here is a list of the common situations and questions and how to resolve them. However, if at any time you need help, please contact the International Student and Scholar Services Office.

Emergencies

  • If you need on-campus emergency services, please call the following: 
    • KSU Police (Emergency): 470-578-6666  
    • KSU Police (Non-Emergency): 470-578-6206 
    • KSU Clinic (Monday-Friday during office hours): 460-578-6644

  • If at any time you need emergency services off campus, call 911 immediately. This includes the Police/ Fire Department/ Ambulance.

Student Well-Being

  • Kennesaw State University's Student Health Services' staff of board-certified physicians and advanced practice providers deliver comprehensive primary care services year-round between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. The clinic operates by appointment only. Call 470-578-6644 or visit Student Health Services  for more information.

    If you need urgent or emergency care after-hours, visit an Urgent Care Facility, Emergency Room, or call 911 Emergency Services. 

  • KSU’s Counseling and Psychological Services supports the academic mission of Kennesaw State University by enhancing students’ educational, career, personal, and interpersonal development. They provide a wide range of services, including psychoeducational workshops aimed at helping students develop skills for managing the stress of college, group counseling focused on helping students better manage emotions and navigate their relationships, individual counseling for a wide range of mental wellness concerns, as well as psychiatric medication evaluation and treatment. 

    Between the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, walk-in urgent appointments are available for students who may be at an elevated mental health risk, including: 

    • Current or recent thoughts of harm to self or others 
    • Concerned about the safety of another person 
    • Experience of a recent trauma 
    • Experiencing hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and/or behavior, or have been unable to sleep for two or more days 

    If you need to speak to someone immediately there is the Crisis Text Line.  Text 741741 from anywhere in the U.S. to text with a trained Crisis Coordinator.

  • The Campus Awareness, Resource, and Empowerment Services (CARE Services) provides food for ANY KSU student experiencing food insecurity. All supplies are based upon donations and are available to students as long as supplies are continually received.

Student Resources

  • There is a $25 replacement fee for replacing your Talon Card (Student ID). If your card is experiencing issues due to normal wear and tear, Talon One Service Center will waive the $25 replacement fee. 

    The Talon One Service Center is located on the first floor of the Carmichael Student Center on the Kennesaw Campus across from the bookstore, and on the second floor of the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center on the Marietta Campus. 

  • The Science and Math Academic Resource and Tutoring (SMART) Center at KSU is available for students in need of additional academic support in the maths and sciences. Please look at their hours and tutor schedule to find the help you need at your nearest center at your campus. 

    You can also visit the Writing Center for assistance with writing a paper for your class, or the ESL Center for assistance with grammar, pronunciation, paper writing, fluency, presentations, etc.

    Also, do not be afraid to contact your professor through email or during their office hours (which should be located on your course syllabus) to ask if they can assist you in finding additional help for their course.  

Activities and Involvement

  • If you want to find out about ways to be more involved in student clubs and organizations visit Owl Life for a list of organizations.

  • To find out about volunteer opportunities in and around Kennesaw State University, visit leadserve.kennesaw.edu. Here you can register as a volunteer, view service opportunities, and log hours as you go!
  • International Student and Scholar Services offers a “Memory Box Initiative” constructed to motivate international students to go out and explore more of the culture both on and off campus.
