Faculty can apply to teach on the Summer Consortium Program

The Montepulciano Summer Consortium Program is a five-week consortium-based education abroad program in Montepulciano, Italy. The Montepulciano Summer Consortium is built around a general education study abroad model that provides students with the opportunity to satisfy general education requirements and/or upper-division courses in multiple disciplines. To promote continued diversification of course offerings, full-time faculty from all disciplines at Summer Core consortium institutions are encouraged to apply for a teaching position. The consortium is hosted by KSU, but is in partnership with Georgia College, Georgia Southern University, and Valdosta State University.

  • The Montepulciano, Italy, Summer Study Abroad program is shared among a consortium of USG institutions, faculty members are selected based on a number of criteria including the following:

    • Completed application with full syllabi.
    • Availability of general education and upper-division courses that students are likely to take and can take without pre-requisites.
    • Availability of courses to a majority of students at each of the consortium institutions. (Courses should be able to transfer across the consortium institutions.)
    • Attractiveness of courses (including titles and descriptions) to students within and outside the major.
    • The balance and variety of course offerings.
    • The potential benefits of teaching each course abroad.

Thank you for your interest in directing an education abroad faculty-led program! The Kennesaw State University Education Abroad Office would like to invite all full-time faculty to support the university's goal of internationalization through global engagement and overseas learning experiences. 
 
Kennesaw State Education Abroad program proposals for the 2024 calendar year must be submitted to the Education Abroad Office (EAO) by the posted deadlines. Proposals must be approved by your academic college before they are submitted to the EAO. We highly encourage faculty planning to propose to notify their department chairs/colleges early on due to the college vetting processes.
